Antique Chinese silver needle case with lovely patina. Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Probably crafted in the 19th century. Shaped as an urn or vase. Attached to an ornate chatelaine clip. Has a large carnelian bead at the bottom that functions well as a counterweight. The vase has very fine repoussé work and chasing. One side is a foliar design with a flower; other side looks like what might be grooming or sewing tools. Case is 2-3/8 inches x 7/8 inches. Inner needle tube is 1 1/4" long. Chain is 6 1/4 inches including chatelaine clip.
